Family-owned by Chris and Reyna Chew, Cael's Gate is built on a shared passion for wine, hospitality and the Hunter Valley.

Cael's Gate began with a question: what separates a good wine from a truly memorable one?

What defines a wine of clarity, structure and place?

That pursuit led to years of experimentation, careful vineyard selection and a commitment to producing wines that express both site and season.

Today, our wines are crafted from the Samuel Vineyard in Broke Fordwich and from hand-selected vineyards across New South Wales, each chosen for its character, individuality and contribution to the Cael's Gate collection.

THE ESTATE VINEYARD

The Samuel Vineyard

Named in honour of Chris’ late brother, Samuel Vineyard is home to our estate-grown Tempranillo. Planted on the stone-rich slopes of Broke Fordwich, the vineyard reflects our belief that great wines begin with thoughtful site selection and a deep connection to place. Its fruit forms the foundation of our Samuel Tempranillo and Rosé, wines that speak clearly of their origin and the seasons that shaped them.
