Our Story
Every winery begins somewhere. Ours began with a question: What defines a wine of clarity, structure and place? What started as a passion project in a Sydney garage evolved into a vineyard, a cellar door and a winery dedicated to thoughtful wines and genuine hospitality. Our estate vineyardSamuel Vineyard
At the heart of Cael's Gate lies Samuel Vineyard. Planted in 2022 and named in honour of Chris's late brother, Samuel, this estate Tempranillo vineyard represents family, legacy and a long-term commitment to Broke Fordwich. Every vintage adds another chapter to its story.

Beyond Pokolbin lies another side of the Hunter Valley. Sheltered by the Brokenback Range and shaped by its distinctive climate and landscape, Broke Fordwich remains one of the Hunter’s quieter wine regions. It is here that Cael’s Gate calls home.
